Home to this year's Masters Tournament winner, Bubba Watson, it is no surprise that the Pensacola Bay Area has something to offer to golfers. With nearly a dozen PGA-rated courses, there is something for every level of golf aficionado – from the novice to the most seasoned.
Ahhh-- spring! Area parks summon; it's time to get off the back side and head outdoors. With plenty of city, county, state and federal parks offering vast opportunities, from a leisurely walk to an exhilarating work-out or a little snooze while catching a few rays.
Memorial Day Weekend in Pensacola Beach marks the beginning of summer, and the first party of the season is a four-day LGBT pride celebration, complete with beach parties and live entertainment, all with the laidback vibe and Southern hospitality for which the Pensacola Bay Area is known.

It's hard to believe that the light we see in the night sky is from stars and other stellar objects that have traveled millions, even billions, of years to reach our eyes. There’s no place more peaceful and serene to observe these natural astrological beauties than on the white-sand beaches of northwest Florida. Join the Escambia Amateur Astronomers' Association tonight, from sunset to 10 p.m. at Battery Worth picnic area in Fort Pickens for an evening of stargazing. If you can’t make it, be sure to catch the next stargazing event, which will be on May, 25-26 on Pensacola Beach at the Gulfside Pavilion.

This Thursday – and every Thursday until Aug. 2 – visitors and locals will come together to enjoy one of Pensacola's landmark outdoor concert series. So, grab your blankets, lawn chairs, coolers and friends, and head down to Seville Square to enjoy the 25th and final season of Evenings in Olde Seville Square.

The 3-Minute Adventure team faced the same dilemma after a grueling week of planning new episodes, and they handled it the old-fashioned way. It looks to us like they told their boss they had a meeting and played hookey instead. However, the entire 3MA video crew got the memo and tagged along for the outdoor adventure!
Check out Mike & Shelley's latest adventure, as they experience a variety of water activities on Pensacola Beach, including jet-skiing, sailing and taking in the view of the entire island from 1,200 feet above, parasailing over the intercoastal waterway.

This Saturday, May 5, the Pensacola Bay Area will celebrate the life and courageous acts of African-American War Hero Private Rosamond Johnson, who was killed in the line of duty during the Korean War.
Enlisting at the young age of 15, Private Johnson served for only two years before he passed away at the age of 17. After carrying two wounded fellow soldiers out of enemy fire to safety, Johnson returned to assist a third soldier when he was fatally wounded himself. This tragedy made Rosamond the first African-American from the Pensacola Bay Area to die in the conflict.
